Hiking in the Fanes Senes Prags Nature Park

Just a hop, skip, and a jump from our Hotel, right at the exit of St. Vigil, you'll find the Gader Valley's greatest attraction: the Fanes Senes Prags Nature Park (Parco Naturale Fanes-Sennes-Braies.) This high-altitude plateau with its high-altitude meadows, picturesque Alpine lakes, cozy mountain refuges, and a unique flora and fauna is a veritable Mecca for hiking enthusiasts. Here, visitors can walk amidst the scenes of the region's many legends and folk stories. But mountainbikers and mountain-climbing enthusiasts, too, will find plenty of opportunities.

Activities for Both Summer and Winter Vacationers
The Nature Park is home to many rare animal species. Here, Golden Eagles wheel slowly in the sky, while the Alpine ibex hops among the rocks. The European Woodchuck makes his home here, and numerous species of reptiles are likewise to be found. And in the summertime, the Nature Park is populated by hundreds of cattle, sheep, and goats. In the winter, the Nature Park is transformed into a snow-covered paradise – the ideal spot for lengthy ski tours, snowshoe hikes, or thrilling toboggan rides down into the valley.
